The Fixtures Are Out!

Barnsley couldn't start the season with any bigger game, as they head to Hillsborough to take on Sheffield Wednesday! The Reds finally ended their Hillsborough hoodoo with a 1-0 win there last season and will hope to get another victory to start the season right. Its well worth noting that Barnsley have not won on the opening day of the season when they have been away since the promotion season of 1996-1997 when they won 2-1 at West Brom.

Amazingly the first home game of the season is Coventry City- for the THIRD season in a row! In 2007-2008 Coventry triumphed 4-1 and then won 2-1 last season.

Other key dates to note are that Sheffield United come to Oakwell on Saturday 7th November- last year's infamous game, was Saturday 8th November, and head to Bramall Lane on Saturday 3rd April 2010- it was the 7th April last season.

Wednesday come to Oakwell on Saturday 16th January 2010 whilst Barnsley head to Preston on Boxing Day (last year it was a trip to their Lancashire rivals Burnley). And the season ends away at West Brom- just like it did in 2006-2007 when The Reds were hammered 7-0.
