Barnsley Football Club were in danger of turning themselves into real laughing stocks today after announcing an idea that will basically cost up to £10 to watch TV.
After a series of complaints about how the sale of tickets to the FA Cup tie at Liverpool were handled with many season ticket holders missing out due to the fact the club allowed 2 tickets per season ticket, Barnsley FC General Manager Don Rowing announced a deal to show the match on a big screen on the Oakwell Stadium pitch.
The problem is it comes at a financial cost! Season ticket holders and fans with stubs from the Colchester and this weekend's West Brom game will have to pay £5 whilst non season ticket holders and people without stubs will have to pay £10!! Yes that's £10 to watch a TV screen.
Laughably the club also announced there would be EXECUTIVE PACKAGES so hey if you want to fork out a little extra you can have a meal with your viewing! It is yet to be confirmed that the club will also provide popcorn, armchairs and a remote for the women to watch the soaps if they so wish.
It stinks of the club making more money from their own blunder. I'm sure Oakwell will be packed Don....
