Gudjon Thordarson said after the Reds cup exit: "I'm disappointed, I thought we played some good football for part of the game. I thought our performance was better than Saturday but we've paid the price for some sloppy defending."
"We were up for it and we created some good chances but Blackpool had two goals from three attempts in the first half."
Thordarson added: "Rankin looked lively, we created plenty, and on one occasion Dean Gorre might have done better to cross the ball than shoot as he did. Their keeper made a couple of good saves."
