Barnsley have today confirmed the club have turned down a bid from Championship rivals Scunthorpe United for Northern Ireland International midfielder Grant McCann.
McCann scored a wonder goal at Glanford Park on New Year's Day to start The Reds fight back and it seems the Iron were suitably impressed!
Reds boss Simon Davey, who made McCann one of his first signings from Cheltenham told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk:
"I can confirm that Scunthorpe have made a bid for Grant but that was turned down as it was below our valuation of the player".
Meanwhile goalkeeper Heinz Muller will go for a scan to determine the extent of his groin problem that forced him off at half-time of Barnsley's 2-1 FA Cup win over Blackpool on Saturday.
Muller has started every match for The Reds bar the 4-1 defeat to Coventry on the opening day, which came before he arrived from Lillestrom. Since then he has become a key member of the side which is 13th in the Championship.
Muller was replaced by youngster Kyle Letheren on Saturday.
