Barnsley have shown the exit door to a second player in as many days with Keith Treacy following Reuben Noble-Lazarus, who joined Rochdale yesterday, out of the club.
There were high hopes for the 26 year old when he arrived from Burnley in the summer. The former Republic of Ireland international came to Oakwell having made 31 appearances for the Clarets as they won promotion to the Premier League.
However a series of injuries and a loss of form has scuppered Treacy’s short time in South Yorkshire and he made just 16 appearances before his departure today, the last of which was off the bench in the 0-0 FA Cup draw with Chester at the start of December.
Of his 16 appearances for Barnsley only eight were starts and he never completed a full 90 minutes for the club.
