The Reds have bolstered their striking options after re-signing Nottingham Forest forward Marcus Tudgay on loan until the New Year.

The 30-year-old striker played nine games on loan for the Reds last season under Keith Hill and scored three goals before an injury in Hill's final game in charge curtailed his loan spell.

He told the Reds official website that he "jumped at the chance" to rejoin Barnsley:

"They’re a great set of lads here.

“I always say that given the opportunity, I will score goals. If I can come here, score one or two goals and help the team then that’ll be good.”

Meanwhile, heading out of the club on loan are three first team players. As reported yesterday, striker Chris Dagnall has left to join League One side Coventry City on loan until January.

Winger Dale Jennings has joined the Sky Blues' Saturday opponents MK Dons on a similar loan deal, and will probably line up against Dagnall at the weekend.

20-year-old Jennings was signed from German giants Bayern Munich in the summer but has only featured on five occasions for the Reds and was sent off just 5 minutes into his opening day debut against Wigan.

The third and final player out on loan is young midfielder Wade Joyce, who has signed for Oldham Athletic. Joyce signed for the Reds from Sunderland in the summer but has yet to feature for the first team.
