Reds skipper Tony Vaughan could be facing surgery to cure his groin problem even though that would rule him out for the remaining 9 games of the season.
Reds physio Rick Holden told the Official Site :
" Tony got two bad bangs on his hip against Sheffield Wednesday and again at Brentford and the first scan showed some dark areas around his gracilis muscle. This is could be when blood has tracked down although the MRI scan will show us exactly what the probl
em is and what is wrong in there"
" We will know whether he needs an operation to correct it and release the tightness around the muscle which is causing a lot of discomfort"
" Personally I would be happier with surgery at this precise moment because it would clear all the scar tissue out and solve his groin problems once and for all"
Tony has not featured for the Reds since being sent off in the 4-0 hammering by Doncaster on the 22nd Feb, he still has one more match of that suspension to run.
