New striker Paul Hayes believes the Reds are not only capable of promotion this season but also have the players to bring the League One TITLE to Oakwell.
The Reds have not won a domestic trophy since winning their third Division Three (North) title back in the 1954-55 season but Hayes believes promotion and silverware can come to Oakwell.
Speaking to the Official Barnsley F.C website he said:
"This place has really impressed me through pre-season and the players in this squad are fantastic. We went into football work straight away with eleven and seven a side games and seeing the ability within the camp I really feel that we have a great chance of achieving something special. We can push for promotion this season.
"I have not come here to be languishing in mid-table this season. I want to push on and I honestly believe that we have the ability to win this league".
