Barnsley boss David Flitcroft has revealed he is looking to strengthen the left-back position at the club following Scott Golbourne’s move to Wolves.
The 25 year old was the club’s first choice full-back before his defection to Molineux and Reuben Noble-Lazarus excelled in the position during Barnsley’s first win of the season last weekend against Huddersfield but Flitcroft could be set to make a move in the loan market.
He told the Barnsley Chronicle:
"We are looking for players in all positions but the left-back thing has been magnified by Scott Golbourne leaving.
"We won't panic. We have a list of about eight left-backs and left wing-backs. Reuben Noble-Lazarus stood up to the task against Huddersfield and he was excellent."
Meanwhile one of the club’s bright young prospects made his England Under 19 debut yesterday. 18 year old midfielder Paul Digby came off the bench in the 6-1 win in Estonia whilst former Reds defender John Stones played the full 90 minutes in the Under 21’s 1-0 win over Moldova.
