Wilson who historically led Barnsley into the Premier League for the one and only time in the club's history in 1997 has been dismissed after two and a half years at League One side Hartlepool. He led them to promotion from League Two in 2006-2007 but the club now lie just seven points off the relegation zone in League One after one win in thier last five matches.
Wilson is joined on the dole by Paul Ince who today has been dismissed by Premier League strugglers Blackburn Rovers.
