Barnsley have been rocked again in the January window after first team assistant Andreas Winkler departed for Premier League Huddersfield Town.
The 49 year old joined Barnsley with his fellow German Daniel Stendel in the summer and undertook the pre-match press conferences whilst Stendel improved his English.
However Winkler's good work on the field, helping the Reds reach fourth in the League One table has seen him jump up two divisions. Huddersfield this week appointed their second successive German head coach following the departure of David Wagner, in the form of Jan Siewert from Borussia Dortmund's second team and he and Winkler have worked together previously at RW Essen in 2015-2016.
This led the Terriers to activate Winkler's buyout clause and the move to West Yorkshire was confirmed today.
This meant Stendel himself has conducted the pre Rochdale press conference and announced that former Barnsley player Dale Tonge who has been coaching with the club's Academy will be his assistant for the "next few games"
