Huddersfield Town have become the first Yorkshire side to dispense of their manager this season after Stan Ternent departed the Galpharm Stadium today.
The 62 year old former Burnley boss only took over from former Barnsley manager Andy Ritchie in April but he won just four of his 15 League One games in charge.
Ironically Ternent led the Terriers to their first win in five games on Saturday when they defeated Crewe 3-2, but it was not enough to keep Ternent in a job and he leaves with Town 16th in League One- nine points off the play-offs.
It has been a struggle for Huddersfield since The Reds defeated them in the League One Play-Off Semi-Finals in 2006. They finished 15th in 2007 and 10th in 2008. Since that Play-Off defeat Town have also dispensed of the services of managers Peter Jackson and Ritchie who was in charge of Barnsley for that famous 3-1 Reds win at the Galpharm.
