Reds boss Simon Davey has started his summer clear-out at Oakwell by releasing youngsters Rhys Meynell and Kyle Letheren.
Meynell, 19 came through The Reds Academy and skippered the reserves on occasions.
He finished the 2007-2008 season on loan at relegated Scottish Premier League side Gretna where he scored once in 13 appearances.
Goalkeeper, Letheren, meanwhile was signed in the summer of 2006 by former Barnsley manager Andy Ritchie from Swansea.
Despite being a member of the Wales under 21 squad, the 19 year old has failed to break into the first team at Oakwell in his two years at the club and has played just 45 minutes- in the 2-1 FA Cup win over Blackpool in January.
