"We didn't score and we aren't going to win by not scoring, but there were lots of things I was pleased with. I can't be too critical because there's one element missing and that's the goals.
"We knew how Cardiff would come and set up and how they'd play, we dealt with their threats and controlled the game for long periods, but you have to score and if we'd have scored at any point, the game would have been totally different and would have opened up.
"It would have been a better spectacle and I'd have fancied us to get more. But we have to keep going. There's lots of pleasing things like getting the ball from one box to another but credit to the players recognising that and trying to put it into practice more and more often, while keeping good possession of the ball.
"But it's the end product, that's what the game is about. You cannot be pretty and win games by lots of goals. We've coped with them well, had spells controlling the ball, been pushing and pressing but missed our chances.
"We enjoy what we do, we enjoy training, we enjoy working hard and we enjoy giving everything but sometimes you don't get the rewards, but other times you do. It may take us to play shocking next time and win, but we'll keep trying to do everything and play really well whilst giving everything, but there's one thing missing and that's the goals."
”Results are the be all and end all, the difference is if it happens earlier on, you can address it in the transfer window, when the window has gone, you have to change other things, you have to change your shape, personnel, but we're doing all we can and the players are believing in everything and going out and delivering.
"From our point of view, we're really pleased with what they're doing and their application, but they're not getting their rewards, which is sticking the ball in the back of the net. We made all the right runs from set plays but I didn't believe anyone was going to get on the end of it"
"I didn't believe first half even though we created opportunities, we had enough shots. If the ball bounces in the box, let fly. Second half we probably had clearer chances, their keeper made standard saves, he didn't have to make worldie saves."
"We've hard to work really hard with Janko to get him back fit. One of his attributes is his physical power, which you can see. We've lost a lot of full-backs, we have four out at the minute so Saidy has had to go there.
"We've been working on what we want from him in the past month or so and I spoke to him the other day and said he has to earn the place in the team. We know what he can do, but if he's not showing it in reserve games or in training, why would I know what he's going to do.
"It's just a case of pushing him and getting it in his head because a lot of his game is those physical attributes and you have to have a real determination to go out there and impose yourself and he's done that, and done well in the last two games. He's an absolute tank, but he's got to have the mental mindset to go with that."
