Barnsley 2-2 Peterborough: Post Match Reaction

Last updated : 05 April 2010 By Rob Miles (BarnsleyBoy)

"I thought we were lacklustre and leggy today. That is not making excuses but it is just the facts.

"Injuries and suspensions have taken their toll on our squad today and it showed. Darren Moore played with a hamstring injury and was really struggling; Jon Macken has a stomach injury; Bobby Hassell played despite stomach and back problems; Andy Gray has been carrying a knee injury since the Watford game and was on the bench and Jacob Butterfield is a youngster and we have had to rely on him for the last two games.

"It is harsh to criticise after a long hard season. Martin Devaney played today for the first time in ages and did very well and deserves credit. We just could not get a foothold in the match and could not find that extra gear when we needed it.

"It is a good point in the end because we had to come back twice. Luke Steele was magnificent for us at one end while Iain Hume got us back into it at the other.

"The overwhelming emotion at the end is one of relief and that is not a great one to have really. We have not lost but that is not a great consolation against a side that has just been relegated".
