"That is just the weird world of football and we seem to be involved in that at the moment. It's a win - we have ended that unacceptable run of three defeats and we are into the next round of the cup.
"Losing three games like that is unacceptable but we have won this one tonight.
"We created chances. Reading play a certain brand of football and I thought we did well to limit them to a few clear cut opportunities. They all put in a shift tonight.
"We deserved it tonight. We had our bit of cruel luck at the end there when Rob (Kozluk) put it past Luke Steele but the lads deserve credit for fighting back.
"Daniel Bogdanovic looked very confident putting the ball away. I had to see whether he was in the right frame of mind after he returned to Malta to be with his mother, who had a heart attack and surgery last weekend. The answer was yes.
"You have to have different tactics, different systems and different styles of play. I am sure it will be different again on Saturday. Reading changed nine tonight; we changed six so maybe we might both change all 22 at the weekend.
"Luke Steele was brilliant tonight and pulled off some world class saves when called upon. That's why he is at this club.
"You can always expect the unexpected in football".
