“We’ve had a couple of tense, tight nil-nil game’s recently which I thought were both good games.”
“Burton and Sheff United away, so we’ve come away to two teams who are doing well in the league and we’ve more than matched them. We got our rewards with the clean sheet but we’re just a bit frustrated we didn’t get the win that we think we probably deserved.
“As a team everyone knows their roles but the pleasing thing is that everybody has given everything and are leaving everything they’ve got on the pitch, we can’t ask for any more than that.”
“The fans appreciate that and they turn out which is terrific. We defend as a team and we attack as a team, which is getting us results. We’re a difficult team to beat.
“We felt we got in lots of good positions on the counter but didn’t capitalise on them. We just challenged the players in there, we’ve told them what a massive point it is and how well they’ve done with their work-rate and commitment, we can’t ask for anymore, but we’ve laid down a challenge that in games like that we need to be better with the ball. If we had been five to ten percent better with the ball we would have won the game.”
“If we want to get where we want to be, which is play-off finals, we will be playing in huge games like that and we need to get used to it and handling big atmospheres. That’s our next challenge as a team, we’re doing lots right but we want to strive and keep getting better.
“Sheffield United billed this as a must win, it was their FA Cup Final. They were desperate to beat us and it was do or die for them to get in the play-offs. We knew we were going to be playing good teams, but we’re a good team and we want to be better. It’s the next step, we’re never going to rest on our laurels and be happy with what we’ve got.
“We’re satisfied with a point, but next time we playing Sheffield United in a game like that we want to win it.”
“I’d like to thank the fans today, they were magnificent and turned up in huge numbers. We sent the players over at the end to thank them, and likewise the fans thanked the players. We hope they keep coming for our final two games which are both massive now.”
