Barnsley exited the FA Cup at the second round stage for the first time in 45 years with an agonising penalty shootout defeat following dominating for over two hours.
It is their first second round exit since the 1979-1980 season when they lost 1-0 to Chester.
It is Barnsley's first FA Cup 0-0 in seven years since a third round tie at Blackpool in 2016-2017 - they would lose the subsequent reply 2-1.
It is Barnsley's first goal-less home FA Cup tie since the second round in 2014-2015 against Chester - Barnsley would win the replay 3-0.
It is the first time Barnsley have gone to extra time in the FA Cup since the third round of 2021-2022 v Barrow (eight FA Cup ties ago) the Reds though eventually won that game 5-4.
This was only the second time in the last seven FA Cup ties that Barnsley have failed to score.
Indeed it is Barnsley's first FA Cup tie in six that at least one team hasn't scored three goals.
This was Barnsley's first 0-0 draw in any competition for 35 games - last drawing a complete blank against Cheltenham at Oakwell on the 16th March.
These are the only two 0-0s in Barnsley's last 87 matches with the Cheltenham blank the only one in 2023-2024.
Barnsley have now lost four of their last five penalty shootouts - the one exception in the first round of the League Cup at Wigan earlier this season.
This was Barnsley's first FA Cup penalty shootout since the third round replay of 1992-1993 against Leicester which the Reds won 5-4.
This is the first season Barnsley have seen two cup ties go to a penalty shootout since 2015-2016 when they had three and won them all - Scunthorpe 7-6 in the first round of the League Cup, Wigan 4-2 in the Northern Quarter-Finals of the Football League Trophy and then famously Fleetwood 4-2 in the Northern Area Final to earn a Wembley date.
Excluding penalty shootouts, The Reds have lost only one of their last five FA Cup ties and only three of the last 12.
25 games into the season and Barnsley finally managed to complete a match without receiving any bookings, their opponents meanwhile have been booking free in successive games.
It is the first time there have been no bookings at all in a Barnsley game since the 1st April at Burton - 33 games ago.
It is now just three home wins from 13 in all competitions in 2024-2025 (one of which has come against Bristol Rovers) they have won only one of eight home games since they defeated Rovers back in September.
Overall Barnsley have won only three of 20 home games since a run of five wins from seven back in December 2023/January 2024/February 2024.
This was however the first time Barnsley have gone back to back home games without scoring since March (v Cheltenham and Cambridge)
It is only the fourth time in 28 home games (all comps) that Barnsley have failed to net.
This result ended Barnsley's six match winning home run against Bristol Rovers which had also included a FA Cup tie.
It is the first time in seven meetings Rovers have kept a clean sheet at Oakwell dating back to 1991.
It is the first draw between the two sides at Oakwell in nine meetings, also 0-0 in January 1972.
Excluding penalty shootouts Barnsley are unbeaten now in six meetings with Rovers (home and away) and have lost only one of the last 12.
Three of the last six meetings have ended in a draw, two of those 0-0.
Four of the last five meetings which have ended in draws have been 0-0.
