Barnsley have now gone eight league games without a win (D4 L4), their worst run since October-November 2015 when they lost eight in a row in League One.
They have also gone eight games without a first half goal and have scored before half-time in only one of their last 13 (scored two v Aston Villa)
The 8 game run is Barnsley’s worst such run since 2008 (9 games)- they failed to score at all in 6 of those matches, whereas in this run they have netted second half goals in five of the eight.
To complete the eight theme, Barnsley have failed to score more than once for an eighth successive game- their worst such run since September-December 2012 when they went 13 games without more than one goal.
Barnsley have now drawn their last four matches at Oakwell- the first time they have done this for 11 years when they drew the final five home games of the regular 2005-2006 season.
They have gone seven matches without victory in front of their own supporters, their joint worst run of the season- also seven without a win between September 17th and November 19th.
This was Barnsley’s 11th draw of the season, six of which have been goal-less, the most goal-less draws they have had since 2008-2009, also six.
Barnsley started the season only drawing one of their first 14 league matches, but since then they have experienced a stalemate in ten of the following 26.
Barnsley have now won only one of their last eight games against Cardiff- the reverse fixture in December. They have failed to win any of the last four meetings at Oakwell, but ended a run of three successive defeats here against them.
This was the first goal-less draw between Barnsley and Cardiff in 23 meetings and only the third overall (49 meetings)
