Walsall inflicted a fourth straight league defeat on Barnsley with a 2-0 victory at Oakwell.
Second-half goals from George Evans and Milan Lalkovic were enough for Walsall for brush aside the struggling Tykes.
In the first half, on-loan Manchester City striker Evans forced a smart save from Barnsley keeper Nick Townsend.
Then Anthony Forde's cross was flicked goalwards by Walsall top-scorer Tom Bradshaw, but Lewin Nyatanga was able to deflect it wide.
Barnsley's best chances fell to Sam Winnall, who twice warmed the hands of Craig MacGillivray in the Walsall goal.
Barnsley switched to a more attacking formation in the second half and were inches from taking the lead, only for Nyatanga's point-blank header to be tipped to safety by the outstretched MacGillivray.
But it was Walsall who took the lead when Lalkovic's header across goal fell to Evans (62) who turned and curled the ball into the bottom corner.
The Saddlers wrapped up the points when Lalkovic (70) calmly finished after being put through one-on-one by a pinpoint Romaine Sawyers pass
