Barnsley got back to winning ways following back to back away defeats as they started a run of FIVE successive home matches in all competitions by extending their unbeaten home record to seven matches, their best home start since 2003-2004 (11 games)
In total they are unbeaten in their last 11 home games stretching back to March, their best run since 2007 when they were undefeated in 12 at Oakwell between August and December.
They have also opened the scoring in six of those seven matches and are yet to fall behind at Oakwell this season.
It's now just two defeats in the last 19 home games in League One (W12 D5)
Barnsley are unbeaten in 16 league matches when they have opened the scoring, since losing 3-1 to Fulham in January.
Alex Mowatt grabbed the all important goal after 11 minutes, his second this month.
The Reds have now scored six league goals in the opening 15 minutes of games this season.
This was the first meeting between Barnsley and Bristol Rovers in 19 years, but the first league meeting since 1993. The Reds have won four of the last five Oakwell clashes including each of the last three.
They have also won each of the last four home and away.
Barnsley kept a clean sheet for only the second time in 12 outings (all comps) - this was the first home clean sheet in five and the first since keeping shut outs in their opening two home games.
Bristol Rovers have now failed to score in eight of their last 10 league games (W2 D4 L4)
Barnsley have led at half time in eight of their 15 league games this season and have gone on to win all eight - they are yet to win when not leading at the break.
There were no second half goals in a Barnsley game for only the third time this season - also against Wimbledon and at home to Plymouth.
It is the first time Barnsley have won this season when only scoring one goal (D: 2 L: 1)
Adam Davies collected his fifth booking for Barnsley in his career, he is the second Reds keeper to be yellow carded this season after Jack Walton at Blackpool in the Carabao Cup.
It is the first league yellow card for a Barnsley goalkeeper since Davies was booked at Sunderland on New Year's Day.
Both Barnsley and Bristol Rovers had 50% ball possession, only the second time this season that Barnsley have failed to have more ball possession than their opponent, at Bradford (49%)
There were only four shots on target in the game (3 for Barnsley, 1 for Bristol), the joint lowest in a Barnsley game this season (also v Wimbledon)
Rovers one shot on target is the lowest by an opponent at Oakwell this season and since Sheffield Wednesday in February (also 1)

Bristol Rovers manager Darrell Clarke said:
"I don't want to use the word unfortunate but it's the story of the season really, not being ruthless enough in the final third.
"Certainly that first 45 minutes when we were on the frontfoot, you have to take your opportunities in key moments of the game and we're not doing that. Thats why we're struggling."
