Barnsley are now on their best run of form for 11 years! They have won four on the bounce with four successive clean sheets for the first time since December 2004 when they defeated Blackpool 1-0, Colchester 2-0, Torquay 1-0 and Peterborough 4-0.
It is the first time they have won four successive league games at all since February 2013 under David Flitcroft.
Barnsley have won each of the last three matches 1-0, they first time they have had three successive wins with the same scoreline since they defeated MK Dons, Nottingham Forest and Bristol City all 2-0 back in 2006.
Adam Davies has now kept four clean sheets in a row; he is the first Barnsley goalkeeper to do this since his goalkeeping buddy at Oakwell, Ross Turnbull in that December 2004 run when Turnbull was in his first loan spell at the club.
Barnsley matches have now been goalless at half time in each of the past four and all four have ended up in wins for The Reds. Prior to this they had won only one game that was goalless at half time this season.
Indeed Barnsley have failed to score a first half goal in any of their past five matches and have managed only three in their past 14 games in all competitions.
Barnsley have gone 17 games without a draw, the longest run since they went 25 without a stalemate between 1st October 2011 and 3rd March 2012.
Lee Johnson has won both his first two matches as Barnsley manager, the first Reds boss to do this since Simon Davey who won his first two in 2006 (1-0 v Ipswich and 2-0 v Southend)
George Waring has bagged the only goal in both of the last two matches; remarkably it came in the 56th minute of the 1-0 win at Gillingham on Saturday and then in the 57th minute last night.
Waring is the first Barnsley player to score in two successive league matches since Conor Hourihane against Leyton Orient in December and then against Yeovil in January.
Barnsley are in imperious form at Oakwell. This victory was their sixth in their past seven league matches at home with a 2-1 defeat to Fleetwood their only aberration.
Barnsley have also now opened the scoring in each of their last ten home games for the first time since the end of the 2004-2005 season and start of the 2005-2006 campaign. Back then Stephen McPhail started the streak in a 4-1 win over Torquay in February 2005 and Barry Conlon ended it in a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest in September 2005.
They have scored a goal in13 home league games in a row, their best run since 2011 when they managed to net in 17 games in a row at Oakwell.
Barnsley are now the division’s third highest home top scorers, behind Bristol City and MK Dons.
Sam Winnall made his first appearance for exactly a month. They also won 1-0 that night.
Barnsley have now won each of their last three home league meetings with Coventry
