Barnsley 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday

Last updated : 27 October 2013 By Rob Miles (BarnsleyBoy)

The result does very little for both clubs. Sheffield Wednesday have now failed to win any of their first 12 matches this season whilst Barnsley have failed to win back to back games since March and have won just two of their last 15.

The Reds have though now gone unbeaten in back to back games for the first time this season.

Both clubs also remain without a clean sheet. This is Barnsley's longest run since the start of a season without one since 1952.

The Reds did manage to end a three match losing streak against their South Yorkshire neighbours but they have won just two of the last 16 derbies.

Today was Wednesday's fourth successive 1-1 draw and their seventh so far this season. Their total of 8 stalemates is the most in the Football League.

Matty Fryatt's equaliser for Wednesday was the 30th league goal Barnsley have conceded this season, in just 13 matches. They are however no longer the Football League's leakiest defence. Crewe lost 3-1 at Sheffield United today and have conceded 31.

This was only the third time in 16 matches against Wednesday that The Reds had led at half time, they had however won on each of the two previous occasions.
