Crewe have now won three of their last four visits to Oakwell.
Barnsley had 18 shots on goal yesterday, their most since they managed 21 against Everton in the League Cup. It is their most shots in a league match for exactly a year to the weekend. Back on the 12th October last year they had 22 in a 3-1 win over Bradford.
Eight of those were on target, the most since they had 11 on target in the 5-0 win over Rochdale on the final day of last season.
Barnsley have suffered back-to-back league defeats for the second time this season.
Nine of the 16 goals they have conceded have been in the second half with four of those arriving in the final 15 minutes.
Barnsley forced a staggering 14 corners yesterday; it is the first time this statistic has been in double figures since they had 12 in a 3-2 defeat to Bolton in March 2013.
Lee Johnson made just one substitution yesterday, his least amount since taking charge at the club and Barnsley’s least amount since Danny Wilson made only one in a 2-2 draw with Bristol City last October.
Crewe won for only the second time this season, both of them have been away from home.
The Railwaymen scored more than once in a league game for only the third time this season.
