Barnsley 2-0 Hull City

Young left back Robbie Williams scored both goals in a solid 2-0 victory over newly promoted Hull City.

The Reds got revenge for the two defeats suffered at the hands of the Tigers last season.

Williams got his first after just 90 seconds. An inch perfect corner from Stephen McPhail was nodded home by the young gun who is the Reds pre-season top scorer after scoring in 3 of the 4 games.

He notched his second midway through the second half as Hull keeper and defender collided whilst challenging Barry Conlon for a high ball and Williams was left with the simple task of smashing the ball home.

This game offered the Oakwell faithful its first glimpse of new signing Paul Hayes, with fellow new boys Brian Howard and Richard Kell out injured.

He impressed alongside Daniel Nardiello and had a very good first touch.

Next up Leeds United at Oakwell Saturday.
