Valerien Ismael hit double figures of games in charge with his sixth victory, the first Barnsley manager to win as many as six of his first 10 games in charge since Paul Heckingbottom also won six of his first 10 (in League One)
Bournemouth’s Philip Billing and Dominic Solanke remain the only opponents to score a first half goal at Oakwell in the last 17 matches played there.
However The Reds have now conceded TEN Championship goals in 2020-2021 between the 40th and 50th minutes.
Callum Styles had given Barnsley the lead after 31 minutes, the Reds first goal before half-time in six outings since Conor Chaplin scored after 30 at Derby.
Those two games are the only two in the last eight in which the Reds have held a half time lead.
Remarkably this was the second successive Barnsley/Wycombe Oakwell clash to finish 2-1 to Barnsley and Cauley Woodrow and Joe Jacobson have netted penalties in both.
That match back on the 16th February 2019 was also the last time both Barnsley and their opponent scored from a penalty in the same game.
Three out of Barnsley’s last four matches have seen both teams score, none of the prior six did.
They have had successive victories in which both teams have scored for the first time since December 2019 (5-3 v QPR, 2-1 v Millwall)
Barnsley have won successive midweek Championship matches for the first time since August/September 2016 (3-2 v QPR and 4-0 at Wolves)
Barnsley have won each of their past four league matches when ahead at half time and indeed are unbeaten in each of their last 16 (W13 D3) since a 2-1 reverse at Bristol Rovers on the final day of 2018-2019.
Barnsley have conceded from each of the last seven penalties faced (excluding shootouts), Adam Davies saving from Portsmouth’s Omar Bogle in February 2019 is the last one to miss.
Conversely Barnsley have scored each of their last nine penalties since Cauley Woodrow was denied against Manchester City’s Under 21s in December 2018.
All nine have been scored by Woodrow and the run started in that aforementioned 2-1 Wycombe victory.
The Reds have scored five league goals from the spot this season – the most in a season since scoring six in 2015-2016.
Barnsley have only lost one of the last seven league games in which they have scored a penalty (W5 D1 L1)
Barnsley have won all four games in which Styles has scored, three of them finishing 2-1.
In comparison Barnsley have won 20 of the 36 games in which Woodrow has scored (D10 L6)
Each of Barnsley’s five league victories when conceding have all finished 2-1.
Barnsley have gone 10 league games without a draw (all under Ismael) - prior to this they had drawn four out of five.
It is their longest run without a stalemate since a run of 10 included the final regular league game of 2015-2016 and the first nine of 2016-2017.
Barnsley are now unbeaten in their last 18 Championship games in which they have opened the scoring (W14 D4) last losing when breaking the deadlock at Cardiff in December 2019.
Barnsley had the majority of ball possession for the first time in nine matches and only the second time under Ismael (also his first game in charge against QPR)
The Reds had 14 shots on goal, the most at Oakwell since that QPR game (15)
Eight were on target, the most home or away since QPR (11)

Wycombe manager Gareth Ainsworth said:
"We weren't at the races as much as we have been lately.
"For the last eight games we have been hugely competitive but sometimes it is a step too far with these fixture lists.
"Barnsley weren't great but played better stuff than us. The penalty was a bad one to concede but there are some real positives in there.
"We are gelling as a team and Garath McClearly is causing havoc up top. I am not going to dwell on this one too much."
