Barnsley's in-form striker George Waring bagged a brace as the resurgent Reds beat Walsall 3-0 to record a fifth successive victory.
The on-loan Stoke striker, who scored winners in Barnsley's previous two games, bundled in Conor Hourihane's 15th-minute corner to open the scoring at Oakwell with the opposition appealing in vain for handball.
Walsall forward Jordy Hiwula had a penalty appeal turned down on the half-hour mark following a tangle with Martin Cranie.
Hiwula came close to an equaliser with an hour played but, after outpacing Barnsley full-back Mason Holgate, the Manchester City loanee lifted his attempt wide of home goalkeeper Adam Davies' goal.
Waring doubled the hosts' lead with 19 minutes to play, working his way into the box before firing a low left-footed strike across visiting goalkeeper Richard O'Donnell and into the bottom corner.
Barnsley winger John O'Sullivan went close when his powerful strike was kept out by O'Donnell before substitute Sam Winnall lashed home left-footed to complete the scoring in the 89th minute
