Burnley 1-0 Barnsley

Last updated : 08 December 2013 By Rob Miles (BarnsleyBoy)

After Tuesday’s magnificent 2-1 win at Brighton this was Barnsley’s eighth defeat from their 10 away matches. They have lost 17 of their 33 away league matches since the start of last season.

Nobody else in the Football League have lost more than Barnsley’s eight away from home. Notts County and Northampton have also lost eight.

The Reds have now won just one of their last 17 on the road.

Barnsley have also now failed to score in four of their last five matches.

Their poor second half record continues. It is now six matches since they last scored a goal after half-time. They have only scored six second half Championship goals this season, the joint lowest in the division with Bolton and Sheffield Wednesday.

Saturday was the eighth time this season Barnsley have gone in at the break 0-0, but only one of those (against Doncaster) has finished that way and they have ended up losing SIX and drawing one of the others!

Barnsley have now won just two of their last 21 matches, and eight of the last 33.

Burnley picked up their first win in seven matches to return to the top of the Championship and they remain unbeaten at home.
