Burton 0-0 Barnsley

Last updated : 06 November 2016 By Rob Miles (BarnsleyBoy)

Prior to last weekend Barnsley had drawn only one of their first 14 matches but have now had back-to-back stalemates for the first time since April- that was also a 2-2 and 0-0.

This goal-less draw was Barnsley’s first since that sequence when they played out a 0-0 at Sheffield United.

Barnsley have made two trips to the Pirelli Stadium now in their history and both have finished goal-less. The two sides have now met four times in total and Burton are yet to score (2 Barnsley wins, 2 draws)

This was only the third time this season Barnsley have failed to score and they have now kept back to back away clean sheets for the first time since April when one of those was a goal-less draw at Burton.

It is the first time they have kept back to back Championship away clean sheets since April 2010 when they had successive 0-0 draws at Plymouth and Sheffield United.

Adam Davies kept his 30th league clean sheet for Barnsley, on his 80th appearance and 50th consecutive start.

Just 4,913 were in attendance for the game, the lowest crowd Barnsley have played in front of since their trip to the Pirelli last season when only 4,858 were there.

Barnsley have lost only four of 22 away matches in all competition in 2016.
