Doncaster 2-2 Barnsley.

Last updated : 16 February 2014 By Rob Miles (BarnsleyBoy)

Barnsley drew 2-2 for the third time in four games. They have scored twice in five of their last six matches but have won just one of those.

Under Danny Wilson Barnsley have lost just three of nine league matches and only one in 2014. They have now drawn five of those.

It means The Reds have won just one of their last 12 matches in all competitions.

They have now drawn 11 matches this season, surpassed only by Burnley, Nottingham Forest, Ipswich, Middlesbrough, Sheffield Wednesday and Bolton who have drawn one more.

Barnsley scored more than once in a game for just the 10th time this season, but they have managed to win just four of those.

Both sides scored at the Keepmoat Stadium in a Doncaster/Barnsley meeting for the first time. Indeed it is the first time both sides have scored in this fixture since a 2-2 draw in 1978- eight meetings ago.

Nick Proschwitz scored both of Barnsley’s goals, his second and third goals in just four appearances for the club.

It was the first time The Reds had managed to score more than one goal on the road since the 2-1 win at Brighton back on the 3rd December and only the fourth time in 14 away league games this season.

It was the first time a Reds player has scored a league brace on the road since Craig Davies got four in the 5-0 rout of Birmingham in September 2012!

There have now been four goals scored in the last 10 minutes of Barnsley’s last three matches (97, 81,84, 89)

The point for Doncaster stretched their recent run to just one defeat in six and they are now unbeaten in five home league matches. Proschwitz’s goals however were the first they had conceded at the Keepmoat in five games.

19-year-old Paul Digby made his fourth start for the club. It was his fifth appearance of the season and remarkably three of those games have finished 2-2 (Charlton, Blackburn, Doncaster.)

There were six Championship matches played on Saturday, four of which ended in draws.
