Barnsley were completely outclassed as Fulham rose to the top of the Championship by inflicting on Barnsley their nineth defeat in the last 10 outings.
The Reds have now won only one of their last 16 league matches (W1 D4 L11), their worst run since winning only one of their first 18 of the 2019-2020 season (W1 D6 L11)
Barnsley conceded four goals in a game for the first time since losing 4-0 at home to Bournemouth on the 4th December 2020.
They have failed to win any of their first nine away league games of a season (D3 L6) for the first time since failing to win any of their first 10 in 2019-2020 (D2 L8)
It means Barnsley are the only Championship side without a win on the road this season and one of five in the EFL.
They have lost five successive away games for the first time since losing their final six away games of the 2017-2018 relegation season.
There were no bookings in a Barnsley match for only the second time this season – also the season opener at Cardiff.
Barnsley have so far accrued the least amount of Championship points in 2021-2022 (11) and are only off the bottom due to Derby’s points deductions – the Rams have won 21 points but have been also been deducted 21 points to sit on 0.
e games for the first time since November/December 2020 against Brentford and Bournemouth.
They have lost three league games in a row overall for the first time since January (v Norwich, Swansea and Watford)
Barnsley are winless in nine league outings (D4 L5), their worst run since a run of 17 Championship games without a win between 10th August 2019 and 27th November 2019 (D6 L11)
Victor Adeboyejo scored Barnsley’s consolation goal, only his third strike in 42 matches but his second in the last three!
This was the eighth match Adeboyejo has scored in for Barnsley and the first time they have lost when he has netted – previously winning six and drawing one.
His goal did deny Fulham a sixth successive clean sheet however, with ironically the last time they conceded also coming in a 4-1 win.
Each of the last three games Fulham have conceded in the match has finished 4-1, winning two and losing one.
This defeat ended Barnsley’s two match winning run over the Cottagers having done the double over them the last time they met in 2019-2020.
However Barnsley have now lost five of the last seven meetings and four of the last five at Craven Cottage.
The Reds shock 3-0 win in West London back in February 2020 is their only victory there in five visits (losing the other four) conceding 13 goals in those four defeats.
Fulham enjoyed 65% ball possession in the game, the second highest against Barnsley this season, beaten only by their West London neighbours QPR (66%)
Fulham had 21 shots, the joint most by a Barnsley opponent this season along with Middlesbrough.
There were 15 on target shots in the game, the most in a Barnsley match in 2021-2022 and most in a league game since April 2019 at Plymouth (also 15)
Twelve of those on target efforts came from Fulham.

Fulham manager Marco Silva said:
"Apart from the first 10 minutes, we started to play our game, we started to create problems for them, to express ourselves on the pitch.
"There were some very good moments of football. There are things we practise on a daily basis and when I see the players can do it on the pitch on matchday, it's fantastic for us.
"The only thing that was not good was the way we conceded the goal but it's something we keep improving, not just on the pitch but mentally as well.
"Our players know it's really important to have clean sheets, it could have been a perfect afternoon and it wasn't because of that."
