Barnsley picked up their first point on the road this season after setting a club record of losing their first six away games of a season.
It was only the second time this season that The Reds have gone 1-0 down in a game and come back to salvage any points. The only other occasion was the 1-1 draw with Reading exactly one month previously. It is the first time they have done it away from home since the 1-1 draw at Cardiff back in April- nine away games ago.
The Reds have now won just two of 20 trips to Portman Road but last night’s draw means they have lost just one of the last four.
Barnsley have gone three games without defeat for the first time this season, and the first time since the final three games of last season.
Unfortunately Barnsley extended their run without a clean sheet this season to 14 matches. They are now edging closer to that record of 1952 when it took until the 19th match to record a shutout.
This is their longest run without a clean sheet at any point of a season since they went 15 without one last season, from the 23rd October 2012 to 12th January 2013.
Barnsley have now conceded 31 league goals this season, the joint most in the Football League along with Crewe Alexandra.
The point finally sees Barnsley hit the 10-point mark. It has taken them 14 matches, which is their worst record since the reward for a win brought three points. Back in 1971-1972 it took 16 matches to break into double figures but a win was only worth two points.
