Millwall 2-3 Barnsley

Last updated : 19 August 2015 By Rob Miles (BarnsleyBoy)

Barnsley snatched victory in injury time for the first time in nearly three years. They last time they managed such a feat was December 2012….. at Millwall!! Just like last night, on that occasion Millwall equalised in the last ten minutes before Marcus Tudgay secured a 2-1 victory at the death.

The Reds have won two of their first three league games for the first time since 2006-2007, when just like this season they lost their opener before winning the next two.

Barnsley have scored in their first four games of a season (league and cup) for the first time since 2012-2013.

The Reds have now scored four away goals in League One this season, the joint most in the division (along with Coventry, Walsall and Fleetwood)

They scored as many as three goals away from home for the first time since a 3-1 win at Oldham in March and only the second time in 24 away league matches.

In the 1-0 win against Burton at the weekend, Barnsley managed only two shots on target, last night they had five (out of 12 overall) It is the most overall shots they have managed away from home since a 1-1 draw at Notts County in April (also 12) but the most they have actually managed on target on the road since the 1-0 win at Scunthorpe in February (also 5)

Barnsley won after conceding the opening goal for the first time since a 3-1 home victory over Bradford 10 months ago. It is the first time on the road since the opening away game of last season- a 2-1 win at Crewe.

Barnsley have now won four of the last five meetings with Millwall. They have also now lost just one of their last four visits to the Den.

Millwall have won just two of their last 20 home games.
