Notts County 1-1 Barnsley

Last updated : 15 April 2015 By Rob Miles (BarnsleyBoy)

Barnsley conceded in injury time for the second time this season, but it is the first time it has resulted in them dropping points.

Sam Winnall’s goal after nine minutes was Barnsley’s earliest strike away from home this season and their fifth quickest overall.

Winnall has now scored in successive games for the fourth time this season.

Last night was the tenth match this season in which he has scored and The Reds are unbeaten in all ten, failing to win only four.

The goal was a rare sight for Barnsley fans- a first half goal, only the ninth managed in the past 23 matches.

Last night was the 10th time Barnsley have opened the scoring away, but they have gone on to win only six of those matches.

Barnsley led at half time for the 12th time this season but have won only seven.

Reds captain Martin Cranie has now been booked ten times this season. The most he has ever received in one campaign and double the amount from each of the previous two.

Barnsley have drawn five of their past seven matches. Prior to this they had only drawn seven of 43 games this season.

After winning six in a row, The Reds have now gone seven without a win, their worst run since December 2012.

They kept clean sheets in five of those six wins, but have now gone six games without a shut out, their longest such run this season.

Notts County had 21 shots at goal last night, the most Barnsley have faced in a game since the day they were relegated from the Championship back in April. Middlesbrough had 23 that day in their 3-1 victory.

Notts County and Barnsley drew for the sixth time in nine clashes and for the third time in a row at Meadow Lane.

Last night was also County’s fifth successive draw in the league.

There has been four post 85th minute goals in the last seven meetings.
