On-loan Manchester United striker Daniel Nardiello scored for the sixth time in 12 matches as Second Division draw specialists Barnsley notched up their 16th stalemate of the season with a 1-1 draw at Swindon.
Nardiello converted from the penalty spot 11 minutes before half-time to scrub out Sam Parkin's eighth minute opener as new manager Paul Hart picked his third draw in four matches in charge at Oakwell.
Swindon striker Parkin headed the home side in front with his 19th goal of the season.
The former Chelsea trainee nodded home at the back post after defender Sean O'Hanlon celebrated his transfer deadline day move from Everton with the cross that supplied the goal.
Midfielder Brian was almost celebrating a wonder strike soon after when his curling left-wing corner cannoned back off the Barnsley crossbar.
Barnsley drew level five minutes later when Nardiello fired home from the penalty spot after Stefani Miglioranzi had tripped David Murphy 16 yards out.
Nardiello, on a three-month loan from Old Trafford, made no mistake with the resulting spot-kick, sending Swindon goalkeeper Rhys Evans the wrong way before shooting into the bottom left-hand corner.
Veteran striker Tommy Mooney should have put Swindon back in front when he completely miscued his header after Howard had crossed from the left.
Mooney was made to pay for that miss and a needless late booking for dissent, when he was substituted at half-time.
Mooney's replacement Rory Fallon wasted a guilt-edged opportunity to restore Swindon's lead within five minutes of the restart.
Former Barnsley striker Fallon, who scored against Swindon in a 1-1 draw at Oakwell in September, shot straight at Beresford after Sam Igoe had picked out the big Australian with a perfect right-wing centre.
Parkin looked to have won the point midway through the second period after Fallon nodded Igoe's free-kick into his path, but the luckless striker saw his close range header come back off the underside of the cross bar.
