Wigan 2-0 Barnsley.

Last updated : 20 February 2014 By Rob Miles (BarnsleyBoy)

Barnsley suffered their 12th defeat from their last 22 away matches and 10th from 15 this season.

This defeat equalled the number of away defeats suffered in the whole of 2012-2013.

The Reds have now won just ONE game on the road in the last calendar year. Since defeating Middlesbrough 3-2 on the 9th February 2013, they have only managed to win at Brighton back in December.

The Reds have now won just one of their last 13 matches in all competitions but last night’s defeat was only their second in the league in 2014.

Goals are now starting to be conceded at an alarming rate again, with Wigan the third successive team and fourth out of the last five to net twice against Barnsley.

Barnsley have now lost their last five matches against Wigan, four without scoring and have still never beaten them in league action.
