Wycombe go bottom after losing 2-1 at home to Barnsley.
After a very nervous start by both sides Wycombe won their first corner on 16 minutes but Andy Thomson sent his free header over the bar.
A minute later Barnsley had a good chance from their first corner, but Kevin Betsy saw his shot deflected for a second corner.
The opening goal came on 28 minutes when Steve Carson delivered a fine cross for Isaiah Rankin to deflect a shot past Frank Talia to give Barnsley the lead.
It was the same pairing that created the second goal on 34 minutes. Carson struck a 30-yard drive against an upright and Rankin danced in to tuck it away.
Wycombe's caretaker manager, John Gorman, made two changes at half time, Gavin Holligan coming on for Keith Ryan and Jermaine McSporran replacing Darren Currie.
Wycombe pulled back a goal on 63 minutes when a Steve Brown free kick went over the head of Sasa Ilic for Thomson to fire home from an acute angle.
A great piece of play came moments later when Holligan burst forward to play in McSporran - he beat Ilic to the ball but sent his effort wide of the post.
Wycombe brought on Stuart Roberts to replace Andy Bell and went to a 4-3-3 formation in search of the equaliser. Despite constant pressure in the final five minutes, Wycombe were not able to claw back a goal for a point.
